Well, here I am. I've grabbed the 2.4.9 Solaris-2.51 binary from
rsync.samba.org, ran it, and the transfer starts hanging immediately after
diving into the subdirectory that contains the bulk mass of files.

waitid(P_PID, 6630, 0xEFFFFBA8, WEXITED|WTRAPPED|WNOWAIT) (sleeping...)

Seems I'm sold out of luck here. Walking the directory hierarchy and
transferring one subdir after the other should be no problem, though.
