Hi,

I recently upgraded to Slackware 14.2 running kernel 4.4.14 and reinstalled
smokeping and rrdtool.

The installed rrdtool 1.6.0's graphs look great, but graphs with Thai
characters in their titles like “ทย ไทย | zombieTH สงคราม Engineer” show up
as “????? | zombieTH ????? Engineer” instead.

I added “charset = utf-8” to smokeping’s config as this had fixed it in the
previous version of Slackware, 14.1 but doesn’t anymore.
Rrdtool is compiled from source and the --configure options passed were:
  --prefix=/usr \
  --mandir=/usr/man \
  --libdir=/usr/lib64 \
  --disable-static

root@slack14:~# file /etc/httpd/httpd.conf
/etc/httpd/httpd.conf: ASCII text
root@slack14:~# file /opt/smokeping/etc/config
/opt/smokeping/etc/config: diff output, ASCII text

I installed Thai fonts from https://linux.thai.net
Apache 2.4.20 displays Thai fonts fine in a test page.

What am I missing here?

Greetings,
S
