I don't think this is what rrdtool was meant for. Try www.nagios.org. I would like an rrdtool plugin for Nagios at some point. If I could get some help with the C library for rrdtool, I'd probably write one.Actually, If I could get some help understanding the library, I'd probably write threshold alarm too.
Actually, shell programming an alarm wouldn't be so bad if I could figure out how to handle the scientific notation. Ideas? I'd heard about rrdtool for quite some time, though I've only started playing with it over the past few days.
