Hi,
I am just trying to start using Rpy... but I faced the decision: Rpy or Rpy2...
and I don't really get what is the difference between these 2 from the Rpy
website.
I just would like to install the one that is more suitable for me and don't
fall in the situation of spend time in one and then realize the other one was
better for me. If that is helpful, here is a short background about me:
I am PhD student in Ecology. I have been using R for a couple of years but
mostly for its great advantages related with statistical packages. So I don't
really build code in R, I mostly use the built-in commands it has. For building
code I have more experience in Python and like it much more than R, it is just
much more intuitive for me to code with Python. I don't consider myself an
expert in Python but in general terms I would say now I have a medium level of
experience with it and will increase because it is very useful for my work.
I will really appreciate any advice about practical/pragmatical differences
between Rpy and Rpy2 that could help me to decide what to install.
Thanks,
Jaime
