Aside: numpy does also support Python 3 (since about a year ago), so in
principle that gap could be filled.

It would be good to get a GSoC project for Windows support - there's
certainly quite a few people asking for it. But I guess that's tricky,
because Laurent can't provide so much advice for Windows development. I
wonder if one of the R-on-windows developers would be interested in
co-mentoring a student.
