Your bundle is likely overriding the user's local R install.
I am guessing that there is a bundle including on older version of R because rpy2 is currently no longer supported on Windows and its older versions no longer work with recent R binaries.

A way to solve this might to help getting Windows support back on tracks.

Dear list,

I am not sure whether this is the appropriate list to ask, but I'd like to use it as a starting point. If I should address this problem some other place, please let me know.

Within our research project we are developing a small data analysis application called "ConsumerCheck" which uses the following software packages:
Python 2.7
numpy
wxPython
rpy2 and R 2.11.1

We ship an .exe standalone to our research partners that installs our little application on windows platforms. Now I have got the following report by one of the users:

[user feedback START]
I use "StatConnector Server" quite extensively to run R analyses from Statistica (the stats package I generally use). I have in the recent past suddenly noticed that my macros are not working any more, and through extensive postings to the RCOM mailing list, I determined that when I create a "StatConnector" object, the version of the background R is 2.11.1. I found this very strange as I am already a couple of versions past 2.11.1. I searched the computer registry and it appears
that ConsumerCheck is using R v2.11.1.

It now made sense to me because it was probably after I installed Consumercheck that the problems with my macros started. I subsequently uninstalled Consumercheck
which then solved my problem.
[user feedback END]

Has anyone encountered this problem before? If anyone has an idea how to fix this problem or any suggestions that bring us a bit further to solving the problem, we would be very happy to hear from them.

Best wishes
Oliver
