Hi,

A tag PRERELEASE_2_2_0_ALPHA3 has been created in the branch
version_2.2.x of the bitbucket repository.

Because of an accumulation of small inconveniences, direct (such as
hardware failure on a development machine) or indirect, the schedule for
the beta at https://bitbucket.org/lgautier/rpy2/wiki/Roadmap is becoming
unrealistic. Rpy2 is currently about one month being schedule.

The alpha3 is rather stable at runtime and thanks to Thomas Kluyver
constant attention and patches Python 3 support is not drifting behind..
Instability is mostly around changes in the API still to be made.

People using rpy2 interactively (bpython, idle, ipython, or else) will
want to try out the new features outlined at
http://rpy.sourceforge.net/rpy2/doc-2.2/html/interactive.html .
