Compiling against Python 2.5 is still broken in rpy2-2.1.2. Since then the problem was solved, and the fix will be part of 2.1.3. (the debian package for 2.1.2 already includes the fix). http://bitbucket.org/lgautier/rpy2/changeset/a97a85353575
