Hopefully not. The packages installs, and therefore loads, as 'rpy2'.

Version numbering alone would not permit an easy coexistence with rpy 1.x.
(I think).
The "codename" rpy_nextgen materializes to "rpy2" when installed.

The best is to see by yourself by installing it (source, win32, and
docs were uploaded during the week-end).
