Hello,

I have not utilized RPy before, and I am trying to install it. I am a heavy
user of ESRI ArcGIS 9.2, which requires the use of Python 2.4, therefore I have
not attempted to install more recent releases of Python. I have also read the
FAQs and list server and I have not found any reference to a similar error. The
README_RPy.txt references older versions of the program than the one I
downloaded, but I followed it as best as possible.

If anyone has any ideas on where a mistake may reside I would greatly
appreciate any assistance.

Michael

I have followed the installation instructions such as changing the path
variables and so forth to the best of my knowledge. When I type import rpy I
get the following error:

The instruction at "0x7c168f1d" referenced memory at 0x00000001c". The memory
could not be "read". PythonWin Crashes.

Output to the screen includes:
RHOME= C:\Program Files\R\R-2.5.1
RVERSION= 2.5.1
RVER= 2051
RUSER= C:\Documents and Settings\Michael
Loading the R DLL C:\Program Files\R\R-2.5.1\bin\R.dll .. Done.

I have the following software installed on my machine:
OS: Windows XP
python 2.4.1
R 2.5.1
numpy
rpy-1.0-RC3.win32-R2.0.0-R-2.5.1-py2.4.exe
