Right, i have a very simple question.
Why is the result of r.diag() not a Numeric array?
In [13]: rpy.HAS_NUMERIC
Out[13]: 1
In [14]: r.diag(10)
Out[14]:
[[1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],
[0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],
[0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],
[0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],
[0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],
[0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],
[0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0],

In the Rpy Reference Manual (page 13, note 5) it states "When Numeric is
installed, a R array is converted to a Numeric array. Otherwise, a list of
nested lists is returned". As one can see in the example above i have
Numeric but I don't get an array back... Why?
