Keep in mind NVIDIA is dropping support for 470xx this year, September
IIRC.
In my case my laptop cooks with the nouveau drivers, not sure why, seems
like the NVIDIA card gets used but not its fan, or something along those
lines. Not sure what I can do when support drops. I assume they will
fix the drivers for 6.8.x because they don't compile in Fedora 40
(though that could be a GCC14 issue).
I doubt that I have the skill set for package maintenance, but I expect
to keep using the hardware and should be able to comment as a user.
The GT 710 is fanless. MythTV (master, F38, local build, mostly SD
recordings) seems fine with nouveau so far. No Kwin graphic resets yet.
