Hi,

I'm on Ubuntu Studio 12.04.2 (Linux 3.2.0-36 lowlatency-pae) and I had
some errors while trying to compile and install Rosegarden. First, I
installed the missing libraries (Synaptic) and I followed the
installation instructions in the readme file. But I had the following
message: "configure: error: *** Failed to find Qt4 installation. QTDIR
must be defined, or --with-qtdir option given"

I tried different QTDIR options without success. Finally, I used:

./configure --prefix=/usr --with-qtdir=$(pkg-config --variable=prefix
Qt) --with-qtdir=/usr --with-qtlibdir=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu

make

sudo make install

I really do not understand what that means... But at least it works. I
was able to install version 12.04 and now version 13.02. Is this correct
? I think the readme file must be updated to help non-programmers like me.

I hope it will help others.

Regards.
