All:
I found a resolution (though the root problem remains a mystery):
I added a new track. Then selecting all the notes in the notation editor
(copying the segment does NOT work), I copied the notes into the new track
using its notation editor. The PDF output is now correct.

Subject: [Rosegarden-user] Lilypond - misformatting PDF issue
All:
I have a multitrack Rosegarden score, for which I want to print the lead,
treble, and bass staffs. Viewing the score notation for these three tracks
works perfectly. However, when I try to preview/print them, what I get is a
single page PDF output in which the first set of three staffs shows
(correctly) about 4 bars, the next row of three staffs show about 18 bars
(which causes it to run out the right margin of the page), then the last set
of three staff (correctly) shows the last 3 or 4 bars.
Each track contains exactly one segment, each the same length running from
the beginning to the end of the score. (MIDI playback is perfect.)
I've tried literally every combination of preference settings, linear,
multi-page, etc., print all tracks/print non-muted tracks, etc., but with no
luck. The second set of staffs always runs out the right margin of the page.
It's as if RG/Lilypond doesn't calculate the number of bars that will fit on
that set of staffs until it gets to the end of the score. The first and the
last sets are always correct, but the middle set is always wrong.
I've also looked on the Lilypond forum, but I haven't been able to find any
problem that is even described like this.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
Dave
