All:

I have a Yamaha E223 keyboard connected with an M-Audio UNO USB interface
(mapped to output 20:0 via Manage MIDI Devices). Three tracks (all currently
mapped to General MIDI Device, Acoustic Grand Piano) play out through the
keyboard without issue. However, a percussion track (mapped to General MIDI
Device, #10[D], Percussion checked) does not play out through the keyboard.

When I edit the percussion track via Percussion Matrix Editor, I get the
percussion list along the left column as expected. Clicking on one of the
named rows in the left column produces no sound through the keyboard -
*UNTIL* I power cycle the keyboard. Once the keyboard has been power-cycled,
then clicking on a percussion name in the left column produces its sound.
However, in no case does a playback produce any percussion. And, once a
playback has been attempted, I once again lose the percussion sound when
clicking on a named row in the left column.

Another really odd thing is that I had a percussion track in another project
that worked a week ago. When I reopened that project, it didn't work either.

The MIDI mixer shows all needed channels at max volume.

The MIDI Filters shows no boxes checked.

Studio -> MIDI Thru routing is checked (and I've tried the unchecked state
as well).

I tried Studio -> Reset MIDI network.

I restarted my Ubuntu 10.10 system.

And, in case anybody asks: the percussion track is *NOT* muted. J

This is really bizarre. The piano tracks work, the percussion track doesn't.
I'm out of ideas. Am I missing something really dumb here?

Thanks!

Dave
