Vendio Romania seeks a full time System Engineer to help grow our
platform. Be part of a team responsible for the design, deployment and
support of a high performance, highly available Internet-based service
infrastructure.
Role and Responsibilities
Manage and document system infrastructure and configurations
Implement and coordinate system development tasks (including
design and integration)
Propose, implement and/or deploy infrastructure projects
(standalone or in collaboration with development teams)
Active role in managing transitions from development and QA
environments into production
Work closely with development and QA to troubleshoot and resolve defects
Disaster recovery support (including implementation and
deployment of such solutions)
Availability for operational on-call support as part of a 24*7
team located in the US and Romania.
Mandatory skills:
very good experience with Linux (deployment and administration
of large-scale installations)
experience with LAMP and Java-based application platforms
experience in maintaining MySQL DBMS ( replication, backup/restore )
experience with virtualization (preferably Xen hypervisor)
know the theory and have hands-on experience with essential
networking protocols
fluent in English
It's desirable to:
have experience in maintaining at least 50 production servers
(prefferably LAMP stack and/or java application servers )
have experience in maintaining Oracle DBMS
have hands-on experience with advanced WAN routing and switching
have hands-on experience with state and trend monitoring systems
understand the concepts and design behind high-availability
systems ( clustering, load-balancing, failover etc. )
have technical documentation writing skills
It's big plus to:
have experience in datacenter operations
know how to work with enterprise storage solutions ( NetApp , Broccade )
be expert in self-management, communication
have epic anger management skills
be Unix/Linux fanatic, ability to cope with fellow sysadmin's
sick humor and sarcasm
