No real need for a better installation since the current ICSD Retrieve
program is a DOS program. In my lab, it was installed for a while on an
old 486 PC, under DOS only, and this was sufficiently fast. That machine
died recently and the database is now on another old machine (but
slightly younger) under Windows 95, without mouse problem. No need
for Windows 98, NT or Millenium or 2000.
Maybe the next ICSD software will deserve better, it is promised
since a long time... Anyway, in its current form, Retrieve is quite
efficient, even on an old PC machine.
