I returned from the Glasgow I.U.Cr. meeting to find multiple repeat
and "receipt" messages in the Rietveld mailing list as well as many
error messages about wrong addresses. Each time this happens,
several subscribers sign off the list.
People should understand that the Rietveld list is not "moderated",
so that any subscriber can send anything: I do not control the content,
and do not wish to. But please...
* DON'T send messages to the whole list if they are meant for an individual
* DON'T complain about problems to the whole list (this email excepted :-)
* DON'T attach documents, especially of the "visiting card" type.
* DON'T request that receipt of your message should be acknowledged
* DON'T set your emailer to reply automatically. (Such a feature is useful
when you are leave on vacation, but then please unsubscribe temporarily)
PLEASE, try sending an email to youself to check that your emailer
is not doing something of which you may be unaware !!!!!
Oh yes, the Glasgow meeting was great. People fighting to get in to
hear Hugo Rietveld, and many, many talks and posters using RR.
