Hi,

The problem with commercial software is that the vendor
needs to convince people to buy their product. Either the
software is really outperforming public domain ones, or
not. This is difficult to establish without challenges and
Round Robins. Waiting for serious comparisons, be
careful to not buy a soap washing more white than white
(a french comic said that this more white color would
possibly be light grey ;-).

Anyway, not responding clearly in mailing list discussions 
gives some clues about the soap quality : IMHO it is
dubious until some clear proof shows that it really washes
white. Big congress like IUCr may favour the apparition
of many soaps washing whiter than white. Not sure that
peer-reviewing an abstract is a big guarantee. Not sure that
peer-reviewing is even a guarantee at all.
