1) Tom mentioned this on the list yesterday but it's worth relaying again:
we announced the first annual RICON conference. This will be two days
dedicated to Riak and distributed systems in production and it's taking
place this October in San Francisco.

2) Basho also announced an investment from Yahoo! JAPAN Subsidiary IDC
Frontier. This would not have been possible without your testing, usage,
