Hello developers, I must first thank all of you for the effort on Rhythmbox. It works with my nano (unlike *cough*Banshee*cough* even with the new version following their instruction for Ubuntu Breezy, but I digress). However I would like to have two features added to Rhythmbox. One is an option to all the duplicates in the library, and the other is that for each song entry, showing the song type (i.e. encoder type), or even just the file extension is great. So my reasons for having this is that since my iPod 40GB died, I converted basically my library to 128kbps AAC in iTunes on Windows, but I didn't remove them off my hard drive because I have yet to find a suitable backup space for it. So when I imported my iTunes library under Ubuntu, I'm getting all the songs that it's capable of playing, and I end up with quite a few duplicate entries (e.g. Apple Lossless originals and 128kbps AAC for the nano). So showing the duplicate entries, and showing what file type as a column would definitely help cropping unnecessary duplicate entries. I've seen in the archive that there were some discussion about not allowing duplicates , I don't think that's the right approach because, e.g. I have both a Live and a studio version of Aerosmith's "Dream On"...
But anyways, having them in the next version would be great. And if you guys are already working on it (or a version > 0.9.0 already has the features I wanted and I missed it on the website - Ubuntu Breezy froze it to 0.9.0 I think), just ignore me. Thanks again, Benton Lam _______________________________________________ rhythmbox-devel mailing list rhythmbox-devel@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/rhythmbox-devel
