@ScrapCodes I'm not sure if you're done with the refactoring, but one
critical piece is that our *Info objects must remain `private[spark]`.
Currently readPersistedData being implemented by the child means that each
implementation has to understand how the data is stored, and moreover has to be
able to see the *Info classes.
