I have mixed feelings. On one hand it is in the feature list for 4.8, and I decided to stop fighting for a frozen kdelibs-master (git merge makes it actually to maintain after all). But on the other hand changing the whole implementation behind KWallet is a big change. The kind of change that belongs to KDE Frameworks 5 in my opinion, especially since it comes with "some changes in API behavior", which app developers expect in a '5' release, but not in a '4.8' release. It also makes a lot more sense to consider the whole thing as one separate framework, but I guess architectural beauty won't convince the readers of this thread :) The fact that we don't have a date for kde frameworks 5 doesn't mean it will take 3 years. It would come a lot faster if more people actually worked on it :) -- David Faure, [email protected], http://www.davidfaure.fr Sponsored by Nokia to work on KDE, incl.
