Thanks guys for the answers. I don't want to have self complied package on Ubuntu (I use it to have an easy to maintain and up to date distro). I will stick with my current solution which is to use an other computer that as a debian stable installed on it to upload the photos, then transfer them to my main computer. It's painful but it saves me some hours.
