I doubt an accepted package, which closes the Debian bug, means the status in Debian's bug tracker becomes "unknown".
In any case, it's accepted into Debian unstable and OpenTTD in Maverick (1.0.3-2) already recommends this package, even though it is not in Ubuntu's the repository.
