We've added text to the document clarifying that this is operating as a version number. Regarding the underscore, per comments on the RIR search document, https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-regext-rdap-extensions/ is an attempt to make this space more consistent, and it directs that underscores not be used in new extension identifiers. -Tom
