I requested access through the official channel (https://portal.icann.org) more than two weeks ago, still waiting. But it seems things are moving now. > does a lot of "exotic" things. For example: for the EPP <renew> test case, we create a domain solely so we can then immediately renew it, and then do an <info> command to check for the "renewPeriod" status. An EPP server that only supports a single RGP status then has to decide *which* status to return, and it may well return the wrong one, through no fault of its own.
This makes me wonder about something else... is the duration of the various grace periods in gTLDs mandated by ICANN? I know it's usually 5 days in the "renew period" case, but is that compulsory? In our server, it's configurable, and if a registry decides to not grant renewal refunds, it's set to zero, meaning that the "renewPeriod" status would never appear.
