Speaking as co-Chair and including the responses by Jim Gould and Andy Newton under separate cover in this thread, I would say these are excellent questions and they should be resolved by the working group as it considers how to move forward the functionality described in Section 4.
For the now, the question to the working group is whether or not conceptually the two functional elements should be separated. The details of what that looks like is the work that would be in the working group. Keep in mind that the x-media-type document is not yet a working group document. When that request comes in the working group will have to consider the question of how it relates to the signaling in jsContact and if it’s appropriate to “bring them together” or “keep them separate yet aligned” or something else entirely. This may influence your decision of whether or not to adopt the document when that question is asked.
