Since (IIRC) a UID can be a URN, and IANA maintains its own URN
namespace, could we register a URN that would be used to redact the
UID? Something like "urn:ietf:params:json:rdap+jscontact:uidRedacted"?
Servers could publish this value in the UID of a jsCard object, and
clients will have a strong single that the value is redacted.
Think this solution can be included in group 3, i.e. using a uid value
that prevents from correlation.
However, it seems to me like using a placeholder value which is in
contrast with the principles of the rdap-redacted document.
The first two solutions are more compliant with those principles since
redaction is done through a redaction method.
Anyway, I'll add your proposal.

Hi folks,
this is a post to resume the discussion about how to redact JSContact
uid in RDAP.
The goal is to reach consensus or majority on one of the following
solutuions:
1) Redacting by Empty Value method
2) Making uid optional in RDAP and then redacting by Removal method
3) Recommending the use of uid values that prevent from correlation
(e.g. either randomly generated or nil UUIDs)
4) Anything else ?
Please, express your preference(s).
