add user to redhat and samba

Hi Everybody,   I have a redhat file server, where conected some windows clients, and I would like to add a new user for linus and for samba as well. I know the adduser command and smbadduser command also, but the adduser command is does not work. The bash told me unknow command. I logged in as root. What I can do for add new user to linux and samba?   György Kormos
