I have just got hold on a IBM ServerRAID, and I would like to get Redhat up and running on it.
As I understand it, I should set the RAID Stripe-size to something close to the operating system's I/O request size, but I don't know what that is. Can someone give me a recommendation for this? My RAID controller supports 8KB, 16KB, 32KB and 64KB. Any recommendations for RAID arrays, should I make 4 arrays (SWAP, /, /usr and /temp), or what do you recommend? What about RAID level, I was thinking RAID-5, but I have been told that this is not a good idea for the / partition, but I don't know why? Wee since this is my first RAID, I hope to hear from you, and get some good input on this :) -- Med venlig hilsen/Best regards, Søren Neigaard mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- "One finds limits by pushing them." -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
