First things first: you really need to allow a little more than 3.75 hours
between posting and reposting. Many (most) potential respondents don't
read the list around the clock, and allowing at least 24 hours between
reposts would (a) potentially allow everyone to see and respond to your
original message, and (b) appear a little less "whiny".

As to the actual problem, it might help if you were to include any messages
that you see when your SCSI driver loads. ("dmesg |more" will pull up your
boot time messages.) As an example, I see the following on my box:

SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
DC395x (TRM-S1040) SCSI driver 1.40, 2002-05-10
DC395x: Used settings: AdapterID=07, Speed=0(20.0MHz), DevMode=0x57
DC395x: AdaptMode=0x0f, Tags=4(16), DelayReset=1s
DC395 : Connectors: int50 Termination: Auto Low High
DC395: Performing initial SCSI bus reset
DC395x (TRM-S1040): 1 adapters found
scsi0 : Tekram DC395U/UW/F DC315/U V1.40, 2002-05-10
Vendor: HP Model: C1533A Rev: A612
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
