I am designing a web based application for internal use and I am examining the use of imagemaps to graphically present links to additional information about a large building using imagemaps on a floor plan of the building. I have never used imagemaps before but a little googleing has led me to believe this is a viable solution.
Is mapedit the defacto standard or is there some other tool (linux prefered but windows in a pinch) that will allow me to easily trace around the rooms on the floor plan that will enable me to build a page that will link to other data for that particular room if the user clicks on it?
