that depends. do you mean you want to run a script just on behalf of
the personal root user account, or as a system script with root
privilege?
there's a whole hierarchy for adding system-privileged scripts
to the cron facility -- see /etc/crontab and the directories
/etc/cron.{hourly,daily,weekly,monthly}.
lots of choices.
