With all do respect, you really need to get some info on how to use vi. This 
is the default editor for most every for of UNIX. Yes you can switch editors, 
yes there are more friendly editors, but not understanding basic vi is going 
to hamper any further learning of Linux. Go get a good book on Linux. Red Hat 
Unleashed or something that can give you the basics and act as a reference. I 
use the Caldera book (name escapes me) for most of my Linux questions, even 
for Red Hat as it is such a good reference. Whatever you do, get a good 
reference book to answer these questions. You'll get so much out of it.
