I am really curious as to why there is no cron.daily script installed by
your rpm. what does

rpm -ql tripwire |grep cron

show?

Here is what mine looks like:

[bhughes@bru1 bhughes]$ rpm -ql tripwire |grep cron
/etc/cron.daily/tripwire-check
[bhughes@bru1 bhughes]$

I get nervous when security tools act funny. Is this a redhat supplied
rpm from the cd or other installtion media? I would probably run

rpm -V tripwire

to see if there is any thing else missing/corrupted

mine:
[bhughes@bru1 bhughes]$ rpm -V tripwire
S.5....T c /etc/tripwire/twpol.txt

This indicates that the twpol.txt is different a different size and has
a different time stamp than the one provided by the rpm. I modified the
file as part of my installation so its ok.

Later,

Bret
