Happened to me also. I solved it by doing a "/etc/init.d/network restart" even though I had network up and working. By the way, I've got 4 questions that migh be really stupid. 1. How do I add the redhat network applet to the panel? I've accidently removed it from the gnome-panel. I've looked at the online redhat documentation, and it is says how it supposed to be done, but my default setup does not include the menues the documentation says I'm supposed to navigate. 2. Just in case, how is this done in KDE? 3. (Really stupid) How do I edit and add new entries to the gnome2 menues? I couldn't find an application that does that, and in the desired location in Nautilus I've tried to Right-click --> Add New Launcher. Everything seems ok until I press OK. The new entry does not appear. If I try to edit the properties of an already existing launcher, my changes are lost. This happens as normal user and root. (Is there a file I can edit with emacs like I do with fvwm?) 4. This one really bugs me. Lets say I want to run program in my /home/user/test directory and I'm currently in /home/user. Until redhat 8.0 I could do the following: - Enter ./te at the promp - Press tab and get ./test/ Now in gnome and kde I get "./test ". Notice the blank instead of a "/"? I have to delete the blank, enter a "/" myself, the pressing tab shows me the content of ./test/ instead of the current directory. (Switching to console-mode, i.e. no X, fixes this.) If I type /home/user/te <tab> gives /home/user/test/ Typing $HOME/te <tab gives me /home/user/test/ Bu I really want to be able to type "./te <tab>" and get "./test/" How can I change this behaviour? -- Øystein Olsen, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://folk.uio.no/oeysteio Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics, http://www.astro.uio.no University of Oslo, Norway -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
