If you don't already know about it, procmail is a small programming language designed for this kind of thing. (man procmail)
Although I'd actually encourage you if you're doing anything complicated to do it in Perl. There are really good mail modules for Perl to make this stuff super easy. You do have to know basic Perl to do it though... The problem with procmail is that it's really easy to get yourself into the situation where you can't read what's written (of course many say that about Perl as well :) -Sam On Sat, Aug 24, 2002 at 12:40:05PM -0400, Michael Tiernan wrote: > Anyone have any pointers for a script which will generate a bounce message > for a given input message? > > Thanks. > -- > << MCT >> Michael C Tiernan [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Now a Free Agent http://world.std.com/~mtiernan > <This space for rent> > Sometimes when I get direction from management I have to stop, take a deep > breath, and ask myself what MacGyver would do in a situation like this. > > > > -- > redhat-list mailing list > unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list -- Sam Ockman, Chairman and CEO Tel: 415-358-2600 Fax: 415-896-6742 Toll Free: 888-PENGUIN PENGUIN COMPUTING - Simplifying the Solution Process [tm] www.penguincomputing.com -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
