I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before, but I'd sure appreciate some input on it.
Why does Red Hat create all these "standard" users like adm, operator, gopher, sync, uucp, and so on? Can I safely delete these users as I am being told to do in some Linux security HOWTOs? How can I tell whether my system needs some of these users? --Eric Robinson *** CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT *** This e-mail and any accompanying documents contain confidential information intended for a specific individual and purpose.
