Howdy,
problem, I am trying to download the ISO's for Limbo... however,
Mozilla/Netscape and Konqueror all do the same thing, when downloading a
file from a web site, they slog the whole file into RAM until it finishes
downloading.. and then creates a file from the stuff in RAM. However, this
crashes my machine, because it only has 128MB of RAM and 256MB of swap...
so, a 650MB ISO fills all available RAM and the system freezes.
Any way around this? or do I have to use an ftp site to download large
files? or reinstall windows on 1 machine so that I can continue using IE to
be able to download updates for my linux systems? (IE saves the data
directly to a tmp file on the hard drive and then copies the tmp file to the
final location when downloading completes, hence avoiding this problem)
let me know.
Tom
