My common response to this is: How many would you like? ;^) You can have as many files in a directory as you like. The only limits are: 1) disk space, and 2) the number of inodes created when the fileystem was made. Which is not to say its a good idea to have huge numbers of entries in a directory, you'll find yourself paying a performance price when the numbers get large. And No, I don't think we can be specific about what "large" means. -- ---- Fred Smith -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------- "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." ------------------------------ Matthew 7:21 (niv) ----------------------------- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
