Hello,

I've just discovered that after upgrading to 7.3 from 7.1 cdparanoia no
longer can access my cdrom drive. cdparnoia reports the following:

"/dev/cdrom exists but isn't accessible.

Checking /dev/cdrom for cdrom...
        Testing /dev/cdrom for cooked ioctl() interface
                /dev/scd0 is not a cooked ioctl CDROM.
        Testing /dev/cdrom for SCSI interface
                No generic SCSI device found to match CDROM device
/dev/scd0

No cdrom drives accessible to farmer found."

Other apps (XMMS, for example) can access the drive just fine. I
discovered that ownership of /dev/cdrom had been changed to root, but
changing is back did not help. What am I missing here? Also, I don't
know if this is relevant, but the following entry is in my lilo.conf:
append="hdc=ide-scsi"

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Joe
