Hi all,

I am running RedHat Linux 7.2 on my boxes and I have some troubles with the user's
.rhosts file. I want to allow the login procedure via rsh and rlogin directly without
password
for serveral users and for serveral computers.

So I specified in my .rhosts file the metacharacter '+', but it didn't work. It seems
that the
character is ignored.

Normal entries like "<hostname> <user>" work fine.

I tried the following three possibilities ...

"<hostname> +"
"+ <user>"
"+ +"

... without success.

Any suggestions? Maybe pam is the reason?

In /var/log messages I found:

Jun 12 15:28:05 master pam_rhosts_auth[7109]: user test01 has a `+' user entry
Jun 12 15:28:05 master pam_rhosts_auth[7109]: denied to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as
test01: access not allowed

Thank you in advance!

Best Regards,

Danny Sternkopf
