Something is definitely wrong here. Okay, Mozilla can take a little time 
to come up, simply because it is so big. It takes about 3-5 seconds for 
me; granted that is on a Athlon XP 1700. But even on a slow computer, a 
terminal should open in about a second.

Others have mentioned how to turn off sendmail. While you are at it, 
also turn off portmap, xinetd, sgi_fam, autofs, netfs, nfs, nfslock and 
rhnsd (and probably kudzu while you are at it). That gives the triple 
advantage of booting faster, running leaner, and increasing security.
