Several months ago, I tried an Abit KR7A-RAID board with the same chip. The machine was unbootable unless the raid controller was disabled in the BIOS. High Point does make a driver available, I haven't tried it myself. Last I checked, it was closed source, but I now see a link on the highpoint site for an open source driver.
