are these HD scsi or ide ?

I just installed 7.3 this morning on a server onto a ide HD hooked up to the
mobo, but we also have a scsi raid hooked up with several HD in it to the
system. After install the system wouldnt boot it would just sit there with
a blank screen. It turned out that in the bios the scsi boot device setting
was enabled so it was trying to boot off the raid instead of the ide HD on
the mobo.

If you can boot fine off of a boot disk or get a blank screen after boot up,
I would check boot sequence settings in your bios.

Subject: Hard drive boot problem

Just took delivery of a rack mount server with an Adaptec 1200A RAID
controller and two 80GB IDE drives.

The RAID conntroller does not work with Linux, so I am ditching it. However,
when I install on the Hard drives connected to the motherboard, they will
not boot after the install. The BIOS sees them fine.

If I have them connected to the RAID controller, Redhat sees them fine as
two drives and can install on them and boot, but they don't boot on the
motherboards interface.
I suspect the RAID controller has messed up the MBR, but I am not sure. Any
ideas why this is a problem.
