<snip> MG> Anyway, with sendmail I think I can tell it to relay any mail from the local MG> machine to the outside world and then tell it to relay any mail from our MG> office network to the outside world (by allowing relaying from the office IP MG> address) with "RELAY_DOMAIN( <office IP address> )". However, that will not MG> allow the employees to relay through it from home or on the road. MG> Since the IP addresses for those locations are dynamically allocated, I cannot MG> make a list of "RELAY_DOMAIN()" config commands to limit relaying to us. MG> Is there a way to have authentication and then doing an SMTP relay in MG> sendmail? in qmail? In another SMTP server? Yes. It's called SMTP Auth. It is a standard and well worth it. Most client software supports it. There have been some good discussions with excellent directions on this list. I recommend you search the archives for "SMTP Auth" at... http://www.prairienet.org/library/redhat/ But to help get you started you may want to jump to this one... http://www.prairienet.org/library/redhat/redhat-list/2002/01/msg00452.php Have fun, -- _________________________________________________________________ Brian Ashe CTO [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dee-Web Software Services, LLC. http://www.dee-web.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
