Hmmm... I think if you dig around the Linux Gazette or the Linux
Journal, I recall there being an article about something like that...
i.e. having a local clock standard connected via serial port or
something and having NTP use that as a reference, and then provide NTP
service to the other computers.  It might have been a year or so ago,
but it might help w/ what you are wanting to do.
