I have a IBM 300zx laptop that I just installed Redhat 7.2 it has an old crystal 423x sound card. The problem I am having is that when I boot up and go into KDE my sound does not work until I open a console and run sndconfig. When I do this half the time it works the other half I get a error opening /dev/audio when it does work I then have to go into the KDE sound server and test the sound and then my sound works. Is there something I am doing wrong or need to check to keep me from having to do this every time I boot up?
