I've got a Duron 800 on that board.  I wouldn't expect you to have a problem
running it a bit faster than what they spec.  I think manufacturers
typically support only the maximum speed that was available at the time they
did their testing.  You could try going to the BIOS and see if it lets you
drop the speed to prove that this is not the issue.
